Psalm 77
I cried out to God with my voice - to God with my voice; And He gave ear to me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing. My soul refuses to be comforted.
I rememvered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed.
You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled I cannot speak.
I have comsidered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
I call to rememvrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search.
Will the Lord cast off forever? And will He be facorable no more?
Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore?
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies?
And I said, "THis is my anguish; Bit I will rememver the years of the right hand of the Most High."
I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds.
You way, O God, is in the snagtuary; Who is so great a God as our God?
You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
You with Your arm redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph.
The waters saw You, O God; The waters say You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled,
The clouds poured out water; The skieds sent out a sound; Your arrows also flashed about.
The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; the lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
Your way was in the sea, You path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known.
You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
This chapter of Psalms speaks very specifically to me, in my life right now.
Verse one says "I cried out to God with my voice To God with my voice; And He gave ear to me" When I read this, I stopped. I thought about all the times I have read in the Bible, or heard from other people if I cry out to God He will hear me! This verse hit me with the realisation that if I will call out to God, with my voice, heart, soul, mind, He. Will. Hear. Me. It may not be time for the situation to change, or the pain to go away, but He. Will. Hear. Me. And He Knows, and feels, my burdens with me!
Verses 2 and 6 are perfect descriptions of how I feel right now. However, the next few verses are questions (verses 7-9) I've asked these questions and I can assure, myself and you of what the answers to these questions are. I've experienced these questions, and their answers multiple times before.
The Lord has NOT left forever, He hasn't even left you for a MOMENT! You may not be able to feel His presence, but He IS there, crying with you!

His mercys are NEVER ENDING! the Bible says the Lord has cast your sins "as far as the East is from the West" and He has forgotten your sins forever more. You ask Him if He remembers the thought you had last week that wasn't ok, or the action you did a long time ago or recently. He will say "No." the Bible ALSO says that "His mercys are renewed every morning" I think these andswer the first half of verse 8.
What about His promises? Have they failed? Romans 4:16 says "Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all." This says that all the seed (everyone who is a descendant of Abraham, which is ALL of us...) can be sure of Gods promise(s).
verse nine. Our answer for verse 7 also applies to the second half of verse 9. but the first half is not answered. Has God forgotten to be gracious? NO. He HAS NOT! God always gives us grace. same as He does mercy.
Verses 10- 13 is spent declaring that even though there is anguish, you will praise the Lord, declare His name, remember His promises, and continue to want to be a sanctuary for Him.
verses 14 -20 are declaring who God is! and what He is! He is a god of wonders! "He has declared His strength among the peoples" He has redeemed the peoples!
He is so huge that the WATERS are AFRAID!!! Imagine when you stand in the ocean or get in the pool, or lake, you HAVE to be careful, because it is dangerous, you could drown, or get pulled out to sea, it in itself is scary. Just think that that huge scary thing to us is AFRAID of God!!!!!!!

This Chapter can really make me think. It blesses my soul, when I Read this chapter. It reminds me of who I am to God, and more importantly, who God is.
